Indirect Object Pronouns

le and les become se whenever they precede a direct object pronoun beginning with 'l' (lo/la/los/las)
Consider the following rules that govern the uses of Object Pronouns:
· ¡Muéstrame el libro, por favor! (pronoun added to affirmative command, with accent on 3rd-to=last syllable)
· ¡Muéstramelo, por favor! (both pronouns are added to the affirmative command, with indirect before direct - accent on the 4th –to-last syllable)
· ¡No me lo muestres por favor! (pronouns placed before the verb in the negative command, indirect before direct object pronoun)
· Está mostrándome el libro. (pronoun added to the gerund, with accent on the 3rd-to-last syllable)
· Está mostrándomelo. (both pronouns added to the gerund, with indirect before direct – accent placed on the fourth-to-last syllable.)
· ¿Quieres mostrármelo? (both pronouns added to the infinitive, with accent on the 3rd-to-last syllable)
· ¿Me lo quieres mostrar? (both pronouns may also be placed before the entire infinitive verb expression, with indirect before direct)
· ¿Quién te dio la mochila? (pronoun before the conjugated verb)
· ¿Quién te la dio? (both pronouns before the conjugated verb, with indirect before direct)
· Voy a entregarlo a mi hermano. (pronoun added to the infinitive)
· Voy a entregárselo. (both pronouns added to the infinitive, indirect before direct; le becomes se when it is placed before lo, la, los or las. The same thing happens to les before lo; la; los or las.)
· Se lo voy a entregar. (Both pronouns may also be placed before the entire verb expression with the indirect before the direct; Se is used instead of le before lo, los, la or las.)
